Providence Nurse Manager - Orthopedics in Spokane, Washington
Providence is calling a Nurse Manager ( Orthopedics , Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington. Included under the Orthopedics Dept is also Trauma, Plastic Surgery, ENT and Orthopedic Oncology. This is a large, very busy unit with 70 beds and they practice progressive, evidence-based procedures such as same day total joint replacement. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Creates an environment or culture that enable PSHMC to fulfill its’ mission and meet or exceed its’ goals.
Establishes the relationship between the work of individuals and departments and the Mission / Values of Sacred Heart Medical Center.
Possesses an awareness of current external trends and internal goals. Using valid planning principles, develops and prioritizes innovative approaches to business requirements in the development of specific objectives.
Focuses on expected outcomes based on an understanding of systems.
The PSHMC Manager continuously assesses self and determines own learning needs, seeking assistance and necessary education to acquire new knowledge and skills that enable one to adapt and prepare for a constantly changing environment.
Understands and maintains technical or professional aspects needed for areas of responsibility.
Maintains current knowledge related to clinical services and operations for the unit(s) / service(s) of responsibility.
Applies current knowledge of applicable JCAHO standards, compliance law, state regulation and related legal issues.
Assist staff in the provision of patient care based on self-identified level of clinical competence.
Assists in development of staff who are assigned responsibility to make patient assignments, monitors and evaluates patient care assignments for continuity of care, appropriate skill of caregiver, and the acuity of the patients.
Performs ongoing assessment of the patient care delivery system and patient acuity system with staff to assure effective and efficient care, as well as staff satisfaction.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing
3 years in related clinical setting
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington.
Acceptable references from previous employer(s).
Preferred Qualifications for this position include:
Master's Nursing or related field.
Previous managerial experience in nursing.
