Providence EMS Instructor - 0.5 FTE, Evenings in Spokane, Washington
Providence is calling a EMS Instructor (Clinical Education Services, Evening Shift, 0.5 FTE, 20 hours per week) to Providence Health Care in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:
Applies expert knowledge along with extensive related experience and judgment to accomplish goals and objectives.
Participate in the assessment of the educational needs of the community.
Functions as the lead instructor for both American Heart Association and Emergency Medical service courses.
Assists in identifying and evaluating pre-hospital and hospital education programs to be offered.
Participate in planning various conferences, meetings, workshops and similar settings to further health education.
May provide planning for various basic presentations and programs.
Gathers and organizes books, journals, audio-visual, pamphlets, reports and other health education and promotion information for education programs and services.
Develops and maintains effective working relationships with area organizations, public agencies, health care/volunteer organizations, schools, etc., in order to increase program effectiveness and provide for maximization of efforts.
Complies with INHS policies/procedures regarding mandatory in-service training/education, safety and personnel practices. Establish and maintain good rapport with co-workers, guests and external contacts. Maintain a professional demeanor in both conduct and appearance, which reflects positively on the department and INHS.
Responsible for demonstrating an awareness and sensitivity to information, ensuring privacy and confidentiality. Knows basic HIPAA law as it pertains to health plans. All employees of Inland Northwest Health Services who have direct or indirect access to patient health information must treat that information with the strictest confidence. Any unauthorized access, modification, disclosure or casual discussion of such information shall be considered a violation of this policy and shall be the grounds for disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
Washington State and/or National Registry EMT, AEMT or Paramedic certification
American Heart Association course including BLS certification
American Heart Association course including ACLS certification
American Heart Association course including PALS certification
Bachelor's Degree in Community Health, Health Promotion, Health Education, Public Health, or a closely related field
Willing to obtain/maintain BLS instructor certification
Willing to obtain/maintain ACLS instructor certification
Willing to obtain/maintain PALS instructor certification
3 years Field experience
3 years Teaching experience
