Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children’s Hospital in Spokane, WA is calling those who are interested in starting their healthcare career to apply for our PAID CNA Training Program. In this position you will learn the skills you need to become a nursing assistant and get on the job training in our Nursing Float Pool. You will get paid to work 40 hours per week in variable shifts (Days, Evenings, and Nights) and some weekends.

The CNA Training Candidates is will complete 150 hours of training followed by a 18-month commitment to work at Sacred Heart Medical Center, Holy Family Hospital, or St. Lukes Regional Medical Center as a CNA. Additionally, we are offering a $2,000 Hiring Bonus upon completing the Student CNA training, becoming licensed as a CNA and accepting a full-time position.

The Student Nursing Assistant is a student currently enrolled in a Providence Nursing Assistant Training program. Functions under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager or Designee and within the scope of practice that the supervising manager or designee has determined is appropriate based upon the skills of the Student Nursing Assistant. While enrolled in the NAC Training Program the Student Patient Attendant is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure that the assigned patient(s) remains safe. This may include close, continuous observation to maintain patient safety, comfort, and a safe patient care environment. Basic patient care tasks may be delegated by the Registered Nurse, Nurse Manger and or Delegate. The Student Patient Attendant will document all patient observation and care activities. Also performs non-direct patient care duties as assigned. The NAC training program is a formal on-the-job educational program to learn basic skills in the care of residents. The Student Nursing Assistant enrolled in this program is expected to complete 150 hours of didactic and lab training clinical rotations. Successful completion of the NAC Training Program and the national Nurse Aid Assessment Program certification test in conjunction with remaining an employee in good standing, will qualify for entry into a regular classification as a NAC. The Student Nursing Assistant must meet all academic progress standards identified in the Student Catalog to include maintaining a 80% throughout their didactic training and clinical rotations to remain in good student standing. Students must also adhere to all other standards and policies listed in the catalog.

Required qualifications:

  • Must complete at least two months of successful employment and be in good standing to be accepted into the NAC Training Program

  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire
