Providence is calling a Temporary Clinic RN to the Providence North Coast Clinic in Seaside, OR
(0.5 FTE- Variable Shift Day/Evening)
We are seeking a Registered Nurse that will work closely with patients, family, physician, and other clinic and hospital personnel to ensure the delivery of consistent, individualized, coordinated patient care at Providence North Coast Clinic. Acts as a role model and mentor to LPN's and Medical Assistants.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Provide assistance to physicians by anticipating client’s specific needs
Prepare patients for exams
Prepare and assist with sterile and non-sterile procedures
Provide education and instructions as appropriate
Demonstrate knowledge of physical assessment skills
Perform treatments and interventions accurately utilizing appropriate nursing judgment
Patient/family interaction:
Establish positive relation-ship with patient and family/ friends., greets by name and introduces self
Orient patient to immediate environment and services being provided
Provide for privacy, complies with patient’s requests to have others present for support
Act in a professional manner with patients/family
Medication:
Administer and record medications accurately
Observe patients for possible reaction utilizing appropriate nursing judgment
Process, record, and implement physician orders for prescriptions and medication renewals
Provide infusion services during office visits as ordered by physician
Assist with maintaining accurate record of the use of controlled substances within the clinic
Coordinate orders and ongoing care:
Schedule diagnostic tests and procedures as directed
Coordinate referrals including sending of chart notes
Inform patients of results as directed
Complete orders when patient notified of test results
Maintain integrity of the Medical Records:
Document in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) according to established EMR workflows
Document immunization administration completely and accurately and completes paperwork for the Oregon ALERT program
Telephone communication:
Document all phone calls to/from patients/family according to EMR workflow
Treat callers with diplomacy and respect
Communicate information in a clear, concise manner
Leadership:
Serve as a clinical resource and consultant to clinic staff
Is a role model for professional nursing
Serve as a consultant to staff of other departments
Initiate change through positive attitude and behavior
License and Certifications:
Maintain currency of RN license
Maintain CPR certification
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Evidence of ongoing continuing education
Current license in the State of Oregon as a Registered Nurse
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
One (1) year Experience in clinical healthcare field
