We are seeking an RN Sr. Manager Community Health Clinical who will be responsible for leadership strategic Community Benefit initiatives, including new Regional programs, and day to day management of Community Health programs-- including supervision, budget, evaluation, delivery of service units. Also responsible for program development and planning, in addition to implementation of new grant funded projects and oversight of program evaluation. Ability to manage multiple external stakeholder perspectives and achieve consensus in the design, planning and implementation of community driven and/or Regional initiatives.
In this position you will:
Operations--Responsible for managing services delivered by Community Health staff in multiple cost centers:
Establish goals and objectives for Supervisors and employees, give ongoing feedback to employees on their performance and establish new goals and objectives for each employee, on at least an annual basis.
Assess strengths and areas of improvement for each employee and communicate ongoing observations verbally and, in writing, on at least an annual basis; and on an immediate basis when the behavior warrants.
Work with staff individually, and in a group setting, to plan, implement, evaluate and improve the delivery of Community Health services.
Prepare budget on an annual basis within established parameters and monitor expenses on a monthly basis to ensure compliance with the approved budget.
Respond to inquiries, complaints and positive feedback, both internal and external, and report to Director any situations that pose actual or potential significant risks or benefits to Providence.
Participate in building consensus at the senior and middle management levels in support of the Community Benefit Plan and Community Health Department.
New Project Implementation/Planning:
Implement new initiatives or multi-year grant funded projects; including planning for start-up, organization of project resources to accomplish defined goals and objectives, hiring of staff, monitoring progress and making adjustments, as indicated, identification of the need for consultants and/or Providence resources to perform specified tasks, and reporting on progress/ expenditures to funding agencies.
Work with clinical and/or administrative consultants and Hospital employees to define modifications to existing Hospital systems that permit timely project completion, and accomplishment of Project goals, objectives and benchmarks.
Prioritize areas for service improvement or introduction of new services, based upon program evaluation data and ongoing needs assessment.
Community Building Initiative—Leads a long-term focused project dependent on the coordination of multiple community groups addressing a specifically identified, complex community need:
Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with key community stakeholders including churches, local government, FQHCs, community clinics, schools, local businesses, and homeowners associations. Relationship development emphasizes trust, respect and integrity.
Interpret funding agency priorities, administrative procedures, contractual performance standards, and define deliverables to work within budget policies and authorizations levels.
Ensure that performance metrics are accomplished on an annual basis. This includes holding subcontractors to Providence accountable for achieving defined deliverables.
Facilitate collaborative planning efforts involving multiple stakeholders who may have different points of view with a final results that is designed to achieve an improved outcome or health status for vulnerable populations or the broader community.
Make presentations to internal and external stakeholders promoting the scope of services, philosophy, and role of community partners in Community Health Department’s mission and vision.
Gather community organizations to build consensus on unmet need and initiate collaborative projects to meet defined needs.
Assign Community Health staff/resources to build capacity and/or support collaborative projects with community partners.
Establish, maintain and communicate measures of performance to staff and Stakeholders, including statistics and demographics information related to attendees, satisfaction/feedback surveys of participants and the design of evaluation plans.
Submit summaries of agreed upon performance measures as specified by external funding sources, internal and statistical progress reports for Providence, and monitoring the scope of work and progress of external evaluation consultants.
Oversee of policies and procedures that comply with clinical regulations for programs providing medical services.
Establish and maintain proactive communication with Director (Summary of ongoing progress, areas of potential risk, collaborative relationships with community organizations and schools, internal feedback, potential funding sources, compliance with budget, employee satisfaction.
Initiate ideas for improvement, requests for support, attendance or intervention by Director at community events or staff meetings.
Provide input to grant proposals, including needs assessment data, current research, development of project goals and objectives, and input on evaluation plan.
Reinforce the current goals of the Community Health Department to community stakeholders, Department staff and other Providence employees and emphasizes the connection to fulfilling the Providence Health & Services Mission.
Supervise 20-30 Community Health staff and volunteers, including setting priorities, hiring, scheduling, training, evaluation, discipline, termination, etc.
Monitor and provide timely evaluations of employees’ job performance in accordance with job description and employee’s goals and objectives, including observation of employee in their work environment.
Facilitate communication and teamwork among staff, conducts staff meetings.
Annually identify, in collaboration with Director, opportunities for program development and develops goals and objectives which expand the scope and/or quality of program services.
Annually identify, in collaboration with Director, opportunities for further professional development.
Participate with Director in seeking internal and external funding to meet identified needs.
Supervise timely completion of paperwork requirements including service units reporting, budgetary expense and approval of time sheets and expenses.
Compile and review monthly and or quarterly reports related to expenses and levels of service, including performance of community agencies providing services under subcontracts.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Registered Nurse with current and clear RN license
10 or more years experience in program administration, and supervisory experience in a healthcare, community or school setting
10 or more years program experience in a hospital or community based organization which serves the needs of underserved children and/or adults
Knowledge of health care environment, medical office policies and procedures, general accounting procedures and human resource management practices.
Excellent written communication, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to identify and solve problems, makes decisions, and implements changes
Ability to prioritize, organizes, and coordinates work activities
Ability to give constructive feedback to clinical staff, health educators and support staff and facilitate an efficient, team oriented work environment.
Demonstrated ability to successfully develop key relationships within an integrated delivery system such as hospital, health plan and support departments
Strong knowledge of data management software and/or Electronic Medical Records
Demonstrated management and leadership skills, particularly mentoring, coaching and conflict management
Personal style which emphasizes openness, visibility and approachability
Excellent listening and follow-through abilities and a willingness to accept constructive criticism
Ability to travel between facilities in an efficient manner
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Public Health, Health Service Administration, Community Health, Business Administration, or related field
Experience working in a home and/or communtiy setting
Maternal/child health experience as this position oversees the Providence Welcome Baby Program
