Providence Saint Joseph Health is calling a Clinical Nurse Specialist (RN) - Nursing Service Administration (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Saint Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR

We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist (RN) - Nursing Service Administration that will demonstrate an advanced level of professional competence in a specialized area of nursing practice. Influence care outcomes by providing expert consultation and implementing improvements in patient care delivery. Specifically, the CNS leads in the development of nursing practice that incorporates established national specialty practice guidelines, regulatory requirements, an interdisciplinary framework, outcomes from nursing and healthcare research, best practices changes in healthcare that impact patient care delivery; and advances in technology that support efficient and effective patient care. The key roles of the CNS include: practitioner, educator, leader, consultant and researcher. With a primary focus on patient care and staff practice within the specialty patient population, the CNS works collaboratively system-wide with nursing, service lines and other patient care departments.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Demonstrate advanced capabilities and knowledge in assessment, diagnoses, treatment and evaluation of an identified population or high-risk group to facilitate optimal outcomes
Collaborate with directors, managers, other CNS’s, and clinical education staff in the development, maintenance and advancement of the clinical competency and professional development of the nursing staff, and the teams they work with, in areas of clinical practice within
Translate specialty-specific evidence in the development, implementation and evaluation of evidence based practice, including policies, protocols and procedures as well as system wide education and integration of research and evidenced-based practice at the bedside
Consult and coordinate practice and care issues for complex patients to ensure safe, timely and highest quality nursing care
Work in collaboration with management and interdisciplinary teams to develop an ongoing strategy to assess processes and outcomes of patient care and identify opportunities for improvement
Participate and facilitate ongoing quality improvement initiatives intended to improve clinical systems, processes, outcomes and support the patient throughout the continuum of care
Utilize research, best practices and quality improvement processes to assure quality and value in patient outcomes
Participate in interdisciplinary program development and strategic planning related to patients within the CNS’s specialty expertise
Facilitate problem solving and decision making to influence the development, implementation and evaluation of patient, unit, department and organizational goals
Contribute to the community of nursing and the advancement of nursing knowledge within the profession
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Master's Degree in Nursing with clinical focus from an accredited school of nursing
Oregon State Registered Nurse
Valid driver’s license
Three (3) years Current clinical leadership experience in an acute care cardiac care program that serves both surgical, medical (acute heart failure) and cardiac devices
Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in clinical specialty
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Experience in teaching adult learners
Clinical experience working as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Critical Care
