Providence Health & Services Clinical Nurse Manager - Cardiovascular Lab in Olympia, Washington

Description:

Providence is calling a Clinical Nurse Manager (1.0 FTE, Days) to work in Cardiovascular Lab at Providence St Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA.

The Clinical Nurse Manager will be responsible for the clinical and operational management of assigned patient care areas of responsibility to promote the delivery of the highest quality care and service. Responsibilities include caregiver development and engagement, patient quality outcomes and satisfaction, department operations and supporting department goals and objectives. This position reports to the Director of Cardiac Services.

In this position you will:

  • Work with caregivers to operationalize department goals, and objectives

  • Assure that policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to by caregivers

  • Assure caregivers understand and are committed to the organization Mission, Vision, and Core Values

  • Promote and build caregiver engagement

  • Work with caregivers to participate in Mission activities that contribute to the overall good of the community

  • Set an example to caregivers

  • Work with Director to actualize strategic plan and to complying with organizational guidelines which identifies objectives for increasing market share and volumes

  • Implement a culture within organizational groups that leads to greater excellence or continuous improvement

  • Is responsible for assuring the quality of services provided by effectively managing human resources (ex: hiring, recruiting, managing human resources, performance appraisals, positive discipline, and appropriate conflict resolution)

  • Be responsible for assuring quality patient care and patient satisfaction

  • Promote sensitivity with cultural and religious beliefs

  • Align work group with the organization’s vision; gains team commitment to related ideas and strategies

  • Provide leadership for the unit, ensuring appropriate care and interventions, as well as customer service focus

  • Demonstrate and models professionalism, critical thinking, clinical judgment and partnership in all interactions

  • Treat all people with respect and is responsive to their needs

  • Participate on appropriate committees at the direction of the Department Director

  • Work with Director by contributing to budget planning process and working within set budgetary and productivity guidelines

  • Proactively responds to fiscal changes and adjusts operations to ensure productivity and expense standards are met

  • Maintain good stewardship

  • Use methods and products which reduce cost while maintaining and improving clinical care and quality outcomes

  • Maintain professional nursing standards and practices

  • Work with other Clinical Nurse Managers and Director to evaluate the effectiveness and control department activities, which include overseeing compliance of services provided, performance improvement plans and implementation, and responding to complaints and inquiries

  • Work with Director to deliver a quality management program which complies with all federal, state, and hospital regulations and meets / exceeds Joint Commission standards

  • Ensure that caregivers comply with training requirements appropriate to assigned area and job description

  • Assess, plans, implements, and evaluates educational offerings for acute care units, including orientation, annual and ongoing competencies, and other continuing education as identified

  • Collaborate with fellow Clinical Nurse Managers and Clinical Educators in the provision of education programs

  • Ensure that all applicable employment standards confidentiality, safety, employee health, infection control, Joint Commission, and licensure) are met and maintained by self and caregivers

  • Complete initial review and response to incident reports and complaints, institutes immediate intervention as needed and collaborates with Director in the investigation process

  • Establish and clearly communicates fair and consistent performance standards

  • Demonstrate an interest and an ability to encourage, coach and mentor caregivers toward personal and professional development and uses available resources for this purpose

  • Delegate work establishing accountability for outcomes

  • Provide leadership and technical expertise in the area(s) of assigned responsibility

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent educ/experience

  • Washington State Licensure as a Registered Nurse

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • Three (3) years of acute care professional experience (within the last 7 years)

Preferred qualification for this position includes:

  • Master's Degree or equivalent education/experience

  • Supervisory experience at Charge Nurse level or higher.
