Providence Health & Services Surgical Technologist - Maternity in Medford, Oregon
Providence is calling a Surgical Technologist - Maternity (0.9 FTE, Nights) to Providence Medford Medical Center in Medford, OR.
In this position, you will:
Provide technical/equipment knowledge and supplies supporting procedures.
Be responsible for making recommendations for equipment, quality control monitoring, preventative maintenance, use, repair, storage, and inventory of equipment, and education of personnel providing patient care.
Perform all duties in a manner which promotes team concept and reflects the Sisters of Providence mission and philosophy.
Required qualifications for thisposition include:
High school diploma or equivalent
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
One of the following criteria:
Completion of a surgical technologistprogram accredited by a national accredited organization - and - hold a current Surgical Technologist certification issued by a nationally accredited certifying organization for surgical technologists, both approved by Oregon Health Authority - OR -
Completion of a surgical technologist training programin the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps or Coast Guard of the United States or in the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps. 16 hours of continuing education required every 2 years per state regulation - OR -
2 years of current Surgical Technologistexperience within either and health care facility in the United States - or - as an employee of an agency of institution of the federal government, in the timeframe immediately preceding January 1, 2017. 16 hours of continuing education required every 2 years per state regulation
New Grad requirements:
Recent graduate of an accredited surgical technologistprogram
Must obtain a Surgical Technologist certification issued by a national accredited certifying organization for surgical technologists that is approved by Oregon Health Authority within 12 months of completion of a surgical technologist program.
