Providence is calling a Supervisor Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in the Imaging Services at Providence Centralia Hospital in Lacey, WA

The Supervisor Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the supervision of nursing and medical assistant (MA) care. Directs and manages the clinical team members, workflows and patient care activities within the clinic. Responsibilities include planning and directing clinical services and other assigned programs; supervising department personnel, leading and/or participating in ad hoc and standing committee activities, guiding day-to-day activities including patient flow, communication with patients, family and physicians, assisting with patient concerns, budget development and monitoring, controlling and evaluation of department activities. This position functions as an integral member of the clinic leadership team.

In this position you will:

  • Be responsible for the smooth operation of nursing/medical assistant (MA) function within the assigned ministry. Standards:

  • Demonstrate, develop and maintain programs, policies and procedures for the assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Facilitate communication with other departments and providers for issues relating to nursing/MA.

  • Participate on clinic committees relating to clinical services.

  • Perform nursing duties when required.

  • Work to improve the patient experience and resolve patient concerns related to quality and expectations of care.

  • Maintenance, monitoring, reporting and resolution of compliance related issues including safety, medication, emergency equipment, infection control, best practices and disease management.

  • Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.

  • Adhere to established policies, procedures and protocols.

  • Develop and maintain skills and duties specific to assigned department. Standards:

  • Develops new programs for nursing /MA as health care paradigms change.

  • Knowledgeable on changes in national and local healthcare, nursing practice, medical assisting and inspires professional development in self and others.

  • Coordinates with physicians, staff and management to develop, implement, and update policies and procedures. Responsible for communication and ensure compliance.

  • Coordinates clinical staff training and education.

  • Demonstrate effective personnel management.

  • Demonstrate responsible stewardship in fiscal management.

  • Demonstrate effective communication and decision-making skills.


Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • RN from an accredited nursing program

  • Current Washington state RN license

  • Current BLS Certification

  • ACLS (if required in work environment)

  • Five (5) years of RN experience

  • Knowledge of general office procedures and computer skills

Preferred qualifications for this position includes:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

  • Certification in area of specialty

  • Supervisory and planning experience
