Providence is calling a RN Clinic - Internal Medicine Clinic (0.6 FTE, Days) to Hood River Health Services Building in Hood River , OR

We are seeking a RN Clinic - Internal Medicine Clinic that will assist physicians in delivering quality health care to patients taking into account individual patients' physical or age-related needs. Proficient in the treatment and care of patients, including newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Prepare, stock and clean exam rooms
Set up exam rooms for special procedures (i.e., paps, skin biopsies, flexible sigmoidoscopies, etc.)
Review patient charts prior to their scheduled appointment, including and completing necessary forms
Escort patients promptly to exam rooms
Obtain information from patients, including weight, temperature, BP, pulse, symptoms and current medications
Obtain specimens from patients using appropriate techniques, including phlebotomy, as directed by physicians
Administer immunizations and injections as directed by physicians
Perform EKGs, spirometry, and other procedures on patients as directed by physicians
Assist physicians with examinations and procedures as directed by physicians
Conduct patient education and instruction as directed by physicians
Triage of patient calls to advise and instruct patients, based on nursing standards
Determine follow-up and outcome, and refer to physician as appropriate
Call patients to answer questions and give instructions as directed by physicians
Schedule appointments for patients requiring x-rays, lab work, hospitalization, physician appointments, and other medical needs
Complete and mail test result forms, insurance referrals, and other patient documents as directed by physicians
Obtain prior authorizations as directed by physicians
Document all patient activity and contact in the medical chart
Order and refill prescriptions as directed by physicians
Maintain an adequate inventory of medical supplies
Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Meet with drug representatives
Provide nursing in-service to include development of policies and procedures
Assist co-workers with duties as needed
Assist Director of Quality Management/Risk Management to monitor quality assurance program and Infection Control/Safety Officer with environment of care, emergency preparedness and infection control issues
Perform general nursing care to patients
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards
Prepare equipment and assist physician during treatment examination and testing of patients
Observe, record, and report patient's conditions and reaction to drugs and treatments by physicians
Dispense medications as directed by physician
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement
Current RN license
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification
One (1) year of office nursing experience
Skills in taking accurate vital signs, provision of direct patient care, management of time, the practice of safety techniques, human resources skills, assist AAPS in hiring nursing personnel, conduct performance evaluation on Health Services Building (HSB) nursing personnel, responsibility for the daily operation of the clinical area
