Providence Manager NICU in Everett, Washington
Providence is calling a Manager NICU (1.0 FTE, Days) to work in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett in Everett, WA.
Manage the Newborn Intensive Care Unit and Pediatrics Department to support the operation of 24-hour PRMCE services. Responsible for resource management, customer relations and operational standards. Partners with Clinical and Medical Directors of the NICU, Pediatrics and Women and Children's Services to develop program and fiscal planning for the services. Collaborates to develop integrated delivery system for NICU and Pediatrics and seamless patient care plan.
In this position you will:
Manages human resources:
Completes employee performance evaluations according to PRMCE policy.
Consistently manages and documents employee performance issues; uses progressive discipline appropriately.
Conducts or oversees the hiring and orientation of employees utilizing approved interview processes.
Ensures compliance of employment laws, contractual agreements and employment policies and procedures.
Develops and documents department specific competency based training and meetings.
First year staff retention is >80%.
Utilization of temporary, on-call and agency staff is appropriate.
Manages departmental budgets:
Department productivity is consistently at or below budget; provides appropriate documentation for variances.
Department expenses are at or below budget; variances are identified and documented.
Participates in collecting information and in development of budgets.
Manages patient satisfaction:
Assesses department’s patient satisfaction.
Collaborates with staff to develop patient satisfaction improvement plans based on patient and family centered care.
Oversees implementation of plan.
Evaluates effectiveness of plan.
Ensures that patient satisfaction data is shared with and displayed for staff.
Follows up with all patient/family concerns or complaints.
Uses professional practice model to solve problems and plan intervention.
Patient safety and staff:
Assesses unit/department for safety risks.
Collaborates with staff to review current evidence for best practice in areas requiring improvement.
Is aware of benchmarks for best practice and national means in nurse sensitive outcomes for areas of responsibility.
Manages customer issues and concerns:
Monitors progress with timely communication of key customers and others as appropriate including:
Actively engages with staff to develop and implement ProvVoice action plan.
Ensures that Unit Based Counsels have leadership support.
Ensures that Value Based Standards and Behaviors are adhered to on their unit(s).
Required qualifications for this position include:
5 years of relevant clinical experience
Sufficient and progressively responsible leadership experience in NICU
Current RN licensure in the State of Washington
