Providence Health & Services RN - Staff Development Instructor - Extended Care in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a RN - Staff Development Instructor (Staff Development, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Extended Care in Anchorage, AK. In this position you will:
Coordinate the orientation program for all newly hired licensed nursing personnel.
Provide direct clinical instruction and mentoring for newly hired and current staff.
Collaborate with Human Resources and Nursing Agency Representatives to accommodate orientation.
Respond to identified nursing education needs from other departments, i.e., Quality Improvement, Pharmacy, Respiratory, and Rehabilitation.
Support peer orienteering programs to utilize the abilities of competent, experienced staff to augment orientation and education for newly hired employees.
Identify licensed educational nursing needs.
Provide clinical follow-up for new and current licensed nursing staff related to clinical skills and role responsibilities.
Develop and maintain a competency plan for licensed nursing staff.
Act as a resource for development of educational programs and materials for nursing staff.
Demonstrate awareness of human and resident's rights in all aspects of care, treating each resident and co-worker with respect and dignity.
Seek to expand personal professional growth by individual study of current information related to current nursing practice, gerontology, and long term care. Attends meetings and in-services including mandatory and inter-departmental in-services as assigned.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing as a Registered Nurse
2 years of related experience in a health care field or education with groups and individuals.
Current licensure with the State of Alaska, as a Registered Nurse.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card must be from American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor's degree With courses related to health sciences field.
