Providence Health & Services RN Registry - Hospice in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Registered Nurse (RN) Registry (Hospice, Variable Shift, 0.0 FTE) to Providence Hospice in Anchorage, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Be accountable for direct and indirect quality care for patients and families of all ages, according to the individualized needs of the patient, following the nursing process and in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and under the direction of the Hospice Director or designee and on order of the physician.
Provide skilled nursing care to patients living within the service area of hospice.
Coordinate patient care activities with other members of the health care team in a collegial relationship to promote patient comfort and assist in the achievement of a comfortable and peaceful death.
Assess the patient and family's needs to develop the nursing care plan using the nursing assessment and process.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
Alaska State Registered Nurse License
Valid Alaska driver’s license, reliable transportation and auto insurance in accordance with state automobile laws
Pharmacology, Phlebotomy, and IV skills
Knowledge of end of life care
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Experience in Oncology, Hospice, or Long Term
Knowledge of infusion therapy
