Providence House Supervisor Nursing (Night Shift) in Anchorage, Alaska


Providence is calling a House Supervisor Nursing (Patient Care Res Svcs, Nights, 0.9 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

In this position you will:

  • Work to assure appropriate placement of patients, monitor care provided on the nursing units and address concerns with the caregivers, charge nurses, supervisors and the unit/department management teams.

  • Provide consultation and direction for efficient operation and quality customer service.

  • Work collaboratively with caregivers and others to determine issues and corrective actions related to patient, family, provider or caregiver concerns.

  • Direct and collaborate with department/unit management team and charge nurses to help assure appropriate staffing and efficient use of resources.

  • Respond to codes and emergency situations, providing leadership and assistance as necessary.

  • Facilitate communication with patient care units, mortuaries, Medical Examiner, Organ Donation Program, next-of-kin, morgue/security and spiritual care regarding in-house deaths.

  • Work closely with staff to problem solve and assure that patient care needs are met. Interprets organizational policies and procedures of the hospital and patient care units/ departments as necessary Performs assessment rounds of all patient care areas at least once per shift


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduate of an accredited/approved school of Nursing.

  • Bachelor's degree in Science in Nursing

  • 5 years acute hospital experience as a staff nurse

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska

Preferred qualification for this position include:

  • 2 years nursing supervisory/charge nurse experience
