Providence is calling an Assistant Clinical Manager RN ( Neonatal Intensive Care , Variable Shift, 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position you will:
Consider factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the planning and delivery of nursing and other services. Utilize staffing management principles to assure adequate supply of all necessary staff to perform patient care.
Use leadership principles to anticipate and influence change. Determine resources and actions needed to accomplish objectives. Set priorities and manage time effectively. Identify potential problems/opportunities and plans contingent action.
Establish clear clinical practice expectations based on professional standards for areas of responsibility. Able to provide clinical care and is a role model for staff in the clinical setting. Responsible to oversee clinical operations of the department, working with Clinical Manager / Director, Medical Director, and clinical staff to develop, modify and implement patient care standards.
Use independent judgment to assign work to team members and to responsibly direct team members. Create supporting systems that enable staff to jointly plan and deliver care.
Support the implementation of organization policies and procedures in compliance with state, Federal and other regulatory guidelines to help ensure that high quality, cost-effective patient services meet or surpass accreditation standards. Maintain confidentiality of all information related to patients, employees, medical staff, and as appropriate, Providence Alaska Medical Center and the Providence Health System.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of an accredited/approved school of Nursing
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska
Certification within area of expertise or practice preferred (Nursing Management, CCRN, CEN, etc.)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card must be from American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire
3 years Clinical experience
2 years recent clinical supervisory experience or charge nurse experience
Preferred qualification for this position include:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (All Registered Nurses without a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing must obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or higher within 30 months of hire. Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis at each facility by the most senior administrative nursing leader in consultations with the Human Resource Leader.)
